The 3rd Annual science Symposium on HIV/AIDS 2010,to be held on 30 & 31st August, 2010, at Vigyan Auditorium, CSIR complex, Taramani, Chennai, will bring together leading faculties, experts and scientists who will provide updates on HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and other infectious diseases related to HIV disease.The symposium will cover various topics encompassing HIV epidemiology, pathogenesis, host-virus interactions, immune responses to infection, disease progression, opportunistic infections, current treatment strategies, natural history of HIV disease in India, vaccines, sexually transmitted diseases, and co-infections with TB and hepatitis.  This will provide a scientific forum to address key scientific issues,  gaps in knowledge and an opportunity to identify priorities for future action. The variety of scientific sessions planned for this symposium would meet the needs of various participants.

After this symposium, the participants will be able to identify key areas of research in HIV/AIDS and will be encouraged to initiate collective efforts in the fight against the HIV epidemic in India.

Registration

The registration fee for the delegate is Rs.1000 (Rs.650 for students). The registration details and form is available here.
This is a limited audience (about 400) symposium and the registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Scholarships will be provided to a limited number of selected students with good track records. The application for the scholarship will be available on the website.

Abstract submission for poster presentation

Abstracts of research related to HIV, STDs, TB and viral hepatitis can be submitted and selected abstracts  are eligible  for poster presentation on the day of symposium.

can a MSc( in Zoology) Final year student attain the symposium that is to be held on August this year?...If yes is the jodging free for students?please reply.i am really interested.

Yes, you can attend the symposium.

The regular registration fee for students is Rs.650. However limited number of scholarships are available for deserving student candidates with good track record.

Can You arrange subsidised Accomodation for students coming from outside chennai....

Dear Dr.Sandeep,

Yes, accommodation is arranged for students in guest houses that are cheaper and closer to the symposium venue.

Since, accommodation assistance is on a first-come, first served basis, any request for accommodation assistance is to be made at the earliest, along with registration formalities.
